*12月の星空の見どころは?
冬は星空が美しく見える季節です。寒いですが防寒対策をしっかりして、澄んだ夜空を見上げてみませんか。

■星空カレンダー
12/4は水星が東方最大離角となり、太陽から最も離れて見えます。夕方西の低空を見て見ましょう。
12/5～12/20はふたご座流星群が活動します。ふたご座流星群は三大流星群の一つで、極大となる14日～15日未明は月明かりもなく好条件です。22時頃から東の空を眺めてみましょう。真夜中には天頂から四方八方に流れ星が見えるかもしれません。暗い夜空では1時間に最大40個程度見られます。
12/23は冬至で一年で昼が一番短い日です。ゆっくりとゆず湯につかってリラックスをし、夜の時間を楽しんでは如何でしょうか。

金星:日の出前の南東の空に見えます。
火星:見かけの位置が太陽に近く見えません。
木星:宵の東から南東の空に見えます。
土星:宵の南西の空に見えます。

*What's in the December Night Sky?

Winter showcases a stunning celestial panorama despite the cold. Take precautions against the chill and gaze upon the clear night sky.

*Stargazing Calendar:
On December 4th, Mercury reaches its greatest eastern elongation from the Sun, appearing farthest in the evening sky toward the west.
From December 5th to the 20th, the Geminid meteor shower peaks. Among the top three meteor showers, the Geminids' peak on the 14th to 15th offers optimal conditions with minimal moonlight. Look toward the eastern sky around 10 p.m. Midnight might unveil shooting stars from all directions in the zenith. In a dark night sky, expect up to 40 meteors per hour.
December 23rd marks the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. Relax in a warm yuzu bath and relish the nighttime wonders.

*Planet Viewing Directions:
Venus: Visible in the southeast sky before sunrise.
Mars: Appears close to the Sun's position and is less visible.
Jupiter: Seen in the eastern to southeastern sky during the evening.
Saturn: Visible in the southwestern sky during the evening.
